Meet DC

Twenty-five years ago, my father and I immigrated to the United States seeking refuge from the violence in Colombia. To help pay for college and learn more about my adoptive country, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and later commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army. Over 22 years of military service, I had the privilege of living across the U.S. and I came to understand and cherish the incredible diversity and strength of American communities.

It’s been a few years since I retired from the military and decided to make Arlington my home. Throughout my travels in the Army, Arlington always stood out in my mind. Continually ranking amongst the most educated and fittest cities in the U.S., I see Arlington as a city with limitless potential.

It’s the place where we will usher in a new style of politics.
